Saving your favorite functions on the programmable keys
Press the left or right top key for about 2 sec.. An overview (“Favorites”) with all functions appears on the display. Choose the preferred function and press then the left or right top key where you want to have the favorite behind. The favorite is now saved.
How accurate is the tilt sensor?
The accuracy of the tilt sensor in the device is +/-0.1° to the housing of the device. To the laser beam the maximum deviation can be up to -0.1° and +0.2°. This applies at room temperature (20°C – 30°C). At any other temperatures the maximum deviation increases by +/-0.1°.
Lanyard / Hand Loop Installation
All Leica Disto’s are included with a lanyard / hand-loop to prevent an accidental drop.
To install the lanyard:
1. Locate the 2 small holes near the base on left or right side (some units have these on both sides).
2. Squeeze the small loop at the end of the lanyard and push it into one of the holes. You may need to work it back-and-forth slightly until it comes out the second hole. It is sometimes easier if you can remove the battery door.
3. Loop the entire lanyard through the small loop and pull tight.
Measure In Picture
Determine the width, height, area or even the diameter of an object. One measurement at right angles to the object is all it takes. Then the desired dimension is marked using two arrows in the picture and the measured value appears in the display. In addition to the zoom stages on the Point-finder, an overview camera is available for large objects. The camera function on the DISTO D810 touch can be used to create pictures or screen shots for record purposes, which can then be downloaded to a computer via the USB interface. Thus no details about the measured target points need be lost.
Pictures with the overview camera
Take pictures for record purposes and download them to your computer using the USB interface. The integrated overview camera gives you more image information. With tricky measurements for example, you can photograph and record target points or specific features.
Diameter measurement in picture
Measure to the center of the object with the device. The object appears in the display and then you can mark the diameter with the arrows. The display then shows the result. This function is ideal, for example, for determining the diameter of a tree trunk.
Measuring widths, heights and areas in picture
You measure at right angles to the object. The object appears in the display and then you can mark the required dimension with the arrows. The display then shows the value. In this way you can, for example, measure the width, height and area of an advertising board using only one distance measurement.
Digital Pointfinder
The digital Point-finder, with its multiple zoom levels and large color display, makes targeting easier over long distances. The high-resolution screen ensures a crystal-clear image, allowing you to measure perfectly, even in bright sunlight.
Measure in picture accuracy
The accuracy of the measurement depends on how the function is used. Best results can be achieved when the measuring object is displayed maximum size on the DISTO screen. In such case the accuracy is below 1% of the measured object. This applies for width, area and diameter measurements.
